PEER AND AUTOMATED WRITING EVALUATION (AWE): INDONESIAN EFL COLLEGE STUDENTS’ PREFERENCE FOR ESSAY EVALUATION

A plethora of studies have investigated the effects peer evaluation (PE) and automated writing (AWE) on products perspectives English as a foreign language (EFL) students. However, few compare students' preferences regarding its utilization to evaluate their essays. This study aimed determine which method EFL college students prefer for evaluating quality academic writing. For data collection, questionnaire was distributed frequency with utilize feedback. Twenty enrolled in Education completed questionnaire. The open-ended interview then administered three order gain deeper understanding these two modes evaluation. Frequency count thematic analysis were utilized analyze data. results indicate that favor using feedback over Grammarly, AWE software used this study, reasons. First, they view peers real audience, second, value peers' comments more than Grammarly's. Grammarly also received positive point enjoys tool. Therefore, it is believed combination s will result most essay progress.
